Juan Martín Carrara and Stefania Colina dance with an immense respect for the tradition of tango and the music. Nevertheless they continue working on new forms of expression and on their own development in the salon and on the stage. Being extremely popular teachers in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and throughout the world, their classes allow one to hear and feel what is most intangible in tango. Their exquisite musicality, charm and sensibility have won them many hearts all over the globe.
Stefania and Juan Martin both grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay. After joining the “Orlama” dance school at the age of 4 to study ballet, Stefania graduated at the age of 17 and started teaching. Soon afterwards she joined regular tango classes and met Juan Martín.
Juan Martín was studied ballet and contemporary dance at the National Academy of Dance of Uruguay. Dancing from the age of 13 he wanted to widen his knowledge of different dance styles. That lead him to the same school at wich Stefania was learning .
Since then, they dance together, perform shows and teach together in Uruguay, Argentina and a lot of places all around the world. They are very demanded maestros at international festivals, are a part of the jury in various tango contests and accompany competitors as a coaches, e.g., at the tango UK Championship in 2019.
